Just a reminder -- our parent information meetings about our new A.L.I.C.E. training continues this week. You are welcome to attend any of the meetings listed below, if you would like more information on this new protocol.
The Troy School District is implementing A.L.I.C.E. training as a measure to counter an aggressive intruder or shooter event. A.L.I.C.E. takes a more pro-active approach in the event of a serious emergency. All employees have started training and this training will continue during the school year. We will also conduct informational parent meetings, which will be held at all four middle schools. The information below includes dates, times and locations for these parent meetings.
All meetings start at 7:00pm
- Tues, Oct 4th - Smith MS
- Tues, Oct 9th - Boulan Park MS
- Wed, Oct 10th - Baker MS
- Thur, Oct 11th - Larson MS
As part of our transition from our previous Student Information System to PowerSchool, we want to ensure that we have the most accurate emergency and health data for our students. To this end, we are implementing a Student Data Verification process. This will involve our hand-checking each student's key emergency and health information based on verification from the parents/guardians.
Schools will be printing pre-populated data verification forms on canary cardstock for each student this week. Your child(ren) will bring those forms home. We ask that you carefully review the information and mark-up the form and send it back to school, as soon as possible.
Those forms will be kept in the buildings for emergencies for the remainder of the year while we complete the process of hand-verifying (and in some cases, updating)
